A woman who died after being hit by a lorry at a Tesco petrol station in South Lanarkshire has been named by police.

Helen Henderson, aged 68, was struck by a DAF HGV as she walked through the forecourt of the Tesco filling station on Lanark Road, Carluke, shortly after 7am on Monday.

Emergency services were called out but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 42-year-old driver of the lorry was unhurt.

Police say a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
