Four people have been arrested after immigration officers raided a Chinese takeaway

The suspected illegal immigrants were arrested during a Home Office operation at the I-Chai Oriental Cuisine in Glasgow.

The members of staff were held during the raid at the premises on the city's Crow Road on Friday and officers issued a warning notice to management at the takeaway.

A 24-year-old man, two other men, aged 30 and 43, and a 41-year-old woman, all from Malaysia, were detained.

They are suspected of overstaying their leave to stay in the UK.

Home Office assistant director for Immigration Enforcement in Scotland, Ian Tyldesley, said: "This is a clear warning to those in Glasgow abusing our immigration laws; our dedicated and well-resourced teams will find you."
