A world record attempt will be made on Sunday for the most people dancing the Slosh at the same time.

North Lanarkshire Council is hoping to break the record on Sunday at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell.

To break the record, it needs at least 541 people to take part in the five-minute dance, with the attempts being made between 11am and 12pm.

North Lanarkshire leisure manager Graeme Morrison said: "We've already broken two world records here at Ravenscraig - for the largest Zumba and power hoop classes - so we're hoping to make it three-in-a-row on Sunday.

"I'm sure most people - young and old - have done the Slosh at a wedding or party so it's a world record attempt that everyone can join in."

The record attempt is being held to help raise money for the Westfield Health British Transplant Games 2017, which will be held in North Lanarkshire this July.
