Details have been released of two men police are looking to trace in connection with an assault and robbery near the O2 Academy in Glasgow.

Officers are keen to speak to the men who they believe they may have information that will help with their enquires.

The assault and attempted robbery occurred on a public footpath near 121 Eglinton Street on Thursday, September 22, 2016.

Pictures of one of the men has been released by police in an attempt to help trace them.

Both are described as white males who have local accents. One has a neck tattoo and "pointed nose".

The man pictured, is aged approximately in his mid to late 20s and around 5ft 11in with a thin build and short brown hair.

At the time of the incident he was wearing blue or grey zipper with the hood up and blue jeans or jogging bottoms.

The second man the police are keen to trace, who is not pictured, is described as being aged in his 20s, approximately 5ft 8in with a medium build and short brown hair.

He is said to have a "pointed nose" and distinctive neck tattoo.

At the time of the incident he was wearing grey shorts with a blue trim, grey hooded top with a zip.
