Man, 60, arrested over chip shop 'assault' on boys
Police probe after two boys, aged 12 and 13, were allegedly targeted in takeaway.
A 60-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting two schoolboys in a chip shop.
The incident happened on Friday, May 5, at Marco's Fish and Chips on Caldon Road in Irvine, North Ayrshire.
A 12-year-old boy and his friend, aged 13, were allegedly attacked in the shop.
Neither of them sustained injury and police launched an investigation.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We are aware of reports on social media regarding this incident and can now confirm that a 60-year-old man has been arrested for an alleged assault.
"A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
