A man has been stabbed in an attempted murder at a flat in Glasgow.

The attack happened on Ladymuir Crescent, Pollok, at 8pm on Wednesday.

A 32-year-old man is understood to have been stabbed in the abdomen, leaving him in a "very serious condition".

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the attack.

A cordon has been put up around the flat while forensic teams carry out investigations.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 8pm on Wednesday, police were called to a report of a disturbance within a flat in Ladymuir Crescent, Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and a 32-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Medical staff describe his condition as stable.

"Police are treating the incident as attempted murder and enquiries are continuing."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We dispatched one ambulance and a paramedic response unit to the scene."
