A man has been left homeless after his caravan and all his possessions were stolen.

The vehicle was taken from the Common Green area of Crawford, South Lanarkshire, on Tuesday.

The caravan was stolen while its owner was away, according to Police Scotland.

A spokesman said: "This caravan was actually the home of a local man and everything he owned was contained within.

"As such, the theft has rendered him homeless, and without any possessions.

"It has caused him great distress and we appeal for any information on ts current whereabouts."

The caravan was taken between 5pm and 6.40pm on Tuesday.

Once stolen, it would have passed through either Carlisle Road from Station Road past Mountview Caravan Park or out on to the A702 near Bridgend Road.

The make and model of the caravan is unknown but it was described as having three windows on the front.
