The body of a 22-year-old man was found in a house in West Dunbartonshire.

The alarm was raised at a property on King Edward Street, Alexandria, around 10.45pm on Sunday.

Investigations are continuing and police are treating it as "unexplained", but it is understood the death may be related to drugs.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 10.45pm on Sunday, police received a report of the body of a 22-year-old man having been discovered within a property on King Edward Street, Alexandria.

"A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death which officers are treating as unexplained at this time."

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
