A woman has been assaulted at a Glasgow city centre hotel.

The incident took place at the Travelodge in Queen Street in the early hours of Tuesday.

Officers were called at around 6am, while several police vans remained at the scene for most of the day.

A police spokeswoman confirmed that they received reports of an assault.

She said: "We received a report of an assault on a woman, however enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we cannot provide further details at this time."
