The body of a man has been discovered in a flat after reports of a fight.

Officers were called to a property on Cairnhill Drive in the Crookston area of Glasgow at 9.15am on Thursday.

The man, thought to be in his mid 30s, has yet to be identified but police are treating his death as suspicious.

There were reports of a fight in the area at 9pm on Wednesday.

Detective chief inspector Alan McAlpine said: "Officers have been in the area today speaking to neighbours and checking CCTV to try to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of this man who we believe is in his mid-30s.

"Our inquiries are at a very early stage, however, some information that was passed to police mentions a disturbance in a flat in the general area around 9pm on Wednesday.

"Whether it was the flat the man was found in or not has still to be confirmed and so I would ask that anyone who may have heard this or who has any information that will assist our inquiry contact police.

"Cairnhill Drive is residential with numerous flats. I have no doubt that someone will have seen or heard something between Wednesday at around 9pm or Thursday at 9.15am when the man was found."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.
