Three people were rescued from a yacht which grounded then tipped over.

The 30ft vessel ran into difficulty off Dunstaffnage, near Oban, Argyll and Bute, on Sunday.

A lifeboat was dispatched after the crew called for help at 11.20am and brought them to shore before towing the yacht's anchor to deeper water.

The crew  were later returned by the lifeboat and helped refloat the vessel at about 4.30pm.

A spokesman for Oban RNLI said: "At around 11:20am on Sunday we were tasked by Stornoway Coastguard to assist a sailing vessel that had run aground half a mile north of Dunstaffnage Marina on Eilean Mor Island with three people on board.

"The yacht re-floated at 4:25pm and proceeded to its mooring at Camas Bruaich Ruaidhe."
