A three-year-old boy was taken to hospital after falling off a kerb and then under a bus in Glasgow city centre.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Jamaica Street at around 6.25pm on Monday after reports of a child being struck by a bus.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment but is not believed to have been seriously hurt.

An eyewitness said that the incident happened just outside the Lidl store on Jamaica Street and involved a First Bus.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "We were called to reports of a road accident on Jamaica Street, Glasgow, at around 6.25pm involving a three-year-old boy.

"He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment but is not thought to be seriously injured."
