A 42-year-old man was chased down a street after being assaulted in what police believe was a targeted attack.

The victim was sitting in his black Corsa on Broomfield Road, Glasgow, at 5.15pm on Monday when he was attacked.

A blue Audi containing three men pulled up alongside who began to attack the victim while he was still in his car.

He managed to get out of the vehicle and ran, shouting loudly, towards nearby shops while being chased by the driver of the Audi, said police.

Shortly after, the three men got back into the Audi and drove off.

The Audi driver had ginger hair, was in his late 20s and was about 5ft 10in and of skinny build. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a grey top.

Police said the second man was between 30 and 40 years old, 5ft 10in and of stocky build. He wore dark clothing with the hood up.

The third man was between 30 and 40 years old, 5ft 10in and also of skinny build. He was wearing black shorts and a black overcoat with the hood up.

Detective constable Juan Carlos Arias De Leon said: "This man was threatened, assaulted and chased in broad daylight and there would have been plenty of witnesses in the surrounding area, including pedestrians and motorists passing the scene.

"From our door-to-door inquiries so far, we understand the victim was making a lot of noise whilst being chased and I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed a disturbance to please come forward.

"I would also appeal to any motorists with dashcams who were on Broomfield Road at the time to contact officers as they may have captured the incident."
