A woman screamed and scared off a man who attacked her in the street.

The 22-year-old victim was targeted in Stirling city centre in the early hours of Monday.

She was left upset and shaken after the incident in Wallace Street near Old Stirling Bridge at around 3.20am.

After the attack the man was seen running off in the direction of the Bayne's Family Bakers store on Laurencecroft Road.

Detective Inspector Kenny McAndrew said: "Thankfully the young woman was not injured but this was still a serious incident and I am keen to trace this individual.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact us and we'd really like to hear from the two people who were in the area at the time."

The suspect is described as being around 5ft 10in with a slim-build.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a grey hooded style top with the hood up.
