Police officer hurt while holding man outside Farmfoods

A police officer has sustained a head injury while detaining a man outside a Farmfoods store in North Lanarkshire.
The male officer was hurt during the incident at around midday on Wednesday outside the Farmfoods on Bell Quadrant in Carfin.
He was detaining a 22-year-old man for alleged drug offences.
The officer was taken to Wishaw General Hospital for treatment, where his condition is described as stable.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "A male officer sustained a head injury while attempting the detention of a 22-year-old man for alleged drug offences in Bell Quadrant.
"He was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where he remains for observation but is in a stable condition."
