Four people have been arrested after £50,000 of heroin was seized by police.

The discovery, which also included a large sum of cash, was made near Dumfries on Monday.

Officers said two men, aged 71 and 41, and a 35-year-old woman were arrested after the raid.

A 43-year-old man from Paisley was also arrested and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A police spokesman said: "Police Scotland report that they seized heroin with a value of around £50,000 and a large quantity of cash near Dumfries on Monday, September 11.

"A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to the matter."
