Fast food giant Taco Bell has announced plans to open its first Scottish restaurant.

The Tex-Mex eatery is expected to open on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow before Christmas.

Taco Bell opened its first UK branch in England in the 1980s and now has 18 outlets south of the border.

In a post on social media, Taco Bell said: "Making Scotland's worst kept secret official; Glasgow, we're coming for you!"

Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons recently opened its first European branch in Glasgow.

Scots queued around the block to be among the first inside the Argyle Street store in June.
