A man and a woman have been arrested after a gun, ammunition, drugs and cash were seized by police.

Offices stopped a car on Crowhill Road in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, seizing cocaine worth £5000 and cash on Monday.

A house was then searched nearby on Crowhill Quadrant where a gun, ammunition, cash and cocaine and heroin worth £5000 were also discovered.

A 26-year-old man and a woman, 27, were arrested in connection with the discovery.

They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Detective inspector Fergus Hutcheson said: "Our specialist officers are committed to working daily to target those involved in serious and organised crime.

"We will not tolerate this criminal activity in any form and would encourage local communities to continue to assist us by coming forward with information."
