Holidays are coming to Glasgow with the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour making two stops in the city.

Dates for this year's UK-wide festive tour were revealed on Wednesday and the first two stops will be in Scotland.

The famous lorry will make its first stop of the 2017 season at Silverburn Shopping Centre in Glasgow on November 11.

The next day it will stop at the Asda superstore in Robroyston, also Glasgow, before making its way to bring festive cheer to the rest of the UK.

The huge red lorry, which is emblazoned with an image of Father Christmas, lit up by 8772 fairy lights and plays the Holidays Are Coming jingle, has travelled more than 730,000 miles in the last seven years.

People will be able to project Christmas selfies across the side of the lorry at each stop and they will also be able to pick up a can of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Diet Coke or Coca-Cola Classic.

Every stop will also include a recycling call-to-action, encouraging consumers to recycle bottles and cans in line with Coca-Cola's recent Love Story recycling advert.

Aedamar Howlett, marketing director for Coca-Cola Great Britain, said: "Coca-Cola is synonymous with the Christmas season and it's no secret that our much-loved Christmas Truck Tour marks the unofficial countdown to Christmas.

"We can't wait to start spreading holiday cheer and we are excited to announce a brand new route for 2017, which brings a sprinkling of festive magic to fans across the UK."

After leaving Scotland on November 12 it will travel to Newcastle before taking in another 30 towns and cities throughout England and Wales before its final stop in Rushden, Northamptonshire, on December 14.
