A 14-year-old boy was kicked and stamped on by a group of ten teenagers during a random attack at Milngavie train station.
The teenager was knocked to the ground and assaulted in the East Dunbartonshire town shortly before 8pm on Saturday.
He was left with a black eye, bruises and cuts, one of which needed stitches.
British Transport Police have launched an inquiry into the attack, which they described as "unprovoked".
The group of men and women who carried out the assault were all in their mid to late teens.
