A teenager has suffered a head injury after he was assaulted in a Glasgow shop.

At around 5.20pm, police were called to a report that an 18-year-old boy had been injured when another male attacked him in a Premier's shop on Argyle Street.

The teenager was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to receive treatment for lacerations to the head.

A police spokeswoman said: "Our investigation is still ongoing into an assault on an 18 year-old who suffered from lacerations to the head.

"Police are currently looking at CCTV footage to gather more details and further their investigation.

"Witnesses to the incident are asked to contact police on 101."
