A man "racially abused" two Polish passengers on a crowded train.

British Transport Police are hunting the man over the incident on Saturday, November 4, on the 4.50pm service from Glasgow Central to Lanark.

The train was busy at the time with adults and children, some of whom moved due to the man's behaviour and comments.

Officers are looking to speak to anyone who was on board the train and witnessed what happened.

Police said "At approximately 5pm to 5.25pm, a man began to loudly make racial comments about two Polish men who had just left the service at Uddingston station.

"After this the man continued to make racial comments on the service before leaving the train at Wishaw."

Police are keen to trace a white man who was wearing an orange hoodie and was in the company of two other men.

They were in the front of the three carriages by the toilets.
