A man has appeared in court charged with sexually assaulting a ten-year-old girl in Glasgow.

Paul Lavery allegedly carried out the attack in a lane between Langton Crescent and Drumcross Road in Pollok on November 14.

Prosecutors claim the 36-year-old assaulted the child "with intent to rape her".

Lavery, from Pollok, appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody by sheriff Ian Miller.

Lavery will appear again next week for a full committal hearing.
