An arrest has been made after the alleged gunning down of a man with a shotgun while he was working on a car in a farm yard.

A 45-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the incident at Crosslee Farm in Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire, on November 1.

The 41-year-old victim was allegedly shot at from behind and had to go to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for medical treatment.

The suspect is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "A 45-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the incident.

"A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
