Trains were cancelled due to a man threatening to jump off a railway bridge.

Emergency services were called to Greenock West railway station in Inverclyde shortly after 12.30pm on Monday.

The line between Greenock West and Greenock Central was closed.

The man was brought down and taken to hospital for treatment.

A ScotRail spokesman said: "Train services between Gourock and Glasgow Central were delayed or terminated and started back from Port Glasgow.

"Customers were advised that valid ScotRail tickets and smartcards would be accepted on McGill's buses between Port Glasgow and Gourock."
