Man dies after car careers off road and hits lamp post

A man has died after his car smashed into a lamp post.
The crash happened on Glasgow Road in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, on Wednesday.
It is understood a 65-year-old man had a heart attack before careering his car into a lamppost near Roselea Garage.
Two women tried to save him by performing CPR but he was later pronounced dead.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A 65-year-old man died following a crash on Glasgow Road.
"Enquiries are continuing."
