The Hyndland Station Cat, who spends his mornings greeting commuters, has gone missing.

Hermes, the black and white cat, has not been home since Thursday evening in Glasgow.

The Twitter account, which frequently posts images of Hermes, has appealed for any information on his whereabouts.

The Hyndland Station Cat Twitter account posted a statement on Monday, saying: "He may still be wearing his collar but had just lost his name tag.

"He is microchipped and likes to wander into flats around the Novar Drive area of Hyndland. Also commonly found near Hyndland Station and in the grounds of Garnavel Hospital.

"Please check your tenement close, cupboards, gardens etc and ask your neighbours in case someone thinks they are helping a stray."
