Women wearing burqas subjected to racist abuse on train
An appeal has been launched to trace the two women, who were with young children.
Two women in burqas suffered racist abuse as they travelled on a train with young children.
Police are now trying to identify the two victims, who were travelling on the 6.30pm service between Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Queen Street on August 2.
Another passenger on the service verbally abused the women and used racist language at about 7.25pm.
The women, who were travelling with four young children, moved carriages to get away from the passenger.
British Transport Police has said hate crimes will not be tolerated on the railways.
Officers would like to speak to the two women and have appealed for anyone who may know who they are to contact them on 0800 405040.
