Commuters in the west of Scotland are facing hours of disruption after a railway line in Ayrshire was blocked by a landslip.

The landslip in Kilkerran between Girvan and Ayr has closed that section of the line.

Train services between Ayr and Girvan, Glasgow Central and Girvan, Kilmarnock and Girvan and Glasgow Central and Stranraer via Kilmarnock will all be cancelled, delayed or revised as a result.

Disruption is expected to last until at least 10pm on Friday.

ScotRail are working on supplying replacement transport for those affected.
