More than 7000 rugby fans have been evacuated from Scotstoun Stadium after a fire alarm went off in the north stand.

The evacuation was carried out as a precautionary measure at the end of the first half in the Guinness Pro14 clash between Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby.

The match was temporarily suspended due to an automatic alarm notice from an alarm company.

Two fire crews were called out to the scene to investigate at around 4pm on Saturday.

The stadium has since reopened and fans have returned to the stands, with the second half kicking off at 4.30pm.
