Five people have appeared in court charged with human trafficking offences.

Three men, Vojtech Gombar, 59; Anil Wagle, 36, and Rastislav Adam, 29, alongside Jana Sandorova, 26, and Sylvia Racov, 41, are alleged to have arranged and facilitated travel to the UK of three named women and others.

It is alleged that all five, from Govanhill, Glasgow, took part in the offences "with the intention of exerting control over prostitution by said women, and others there or elsewhere".

They are accused of providing accommodation and facilitating travel within the city "for the purposes of the provision of sexual services".

It is claimed the alleged offence was aggravated by serious organised crime.

All five also face a second charge under the Asylum and Immigration Act that they facilitated the travel of the people to the UK "with intent to exploit".

Gombar and Wagle also face a charge each of being in possession an extreme pornographic image.

There was a joint motion from the Crown and defence lawyers to continue the case to a further pre-trial hearing.

Sheriff Martin Jones QC adjourned the case until a later date and continued bail.
