Police divers are searching the River Clyde for a missing man.

Graham Clark, 54, was last seen by his mother at her home in Knightswood, Glasgow, at 6am on Tuesday.

Around 30 minutes later, his green Mazda was found abandoned on the southbound carriageway of the Kingston Bridge.

A search was launched and divers were called in to search the River Clyde around the bridge.

The coastguard has also been assisting with the search along the banks of the waterway.

Mr Clark, from Renfrew, is described as white, around 6ft and of medium build with light brown closely cut hair. He wears glasses.

Chief inspector Simon Wright said: "My officers are currently investigating Graham's disappearance and one line of enquiry is that he has fallen into the water after stopping his vehicle on the Kingston Bridge, and a full search of the water is being carried out by police divers with assistance from our partners.

"At this time I would urge any motorists who may have seen either Mr Clark or his car stopping on the Kingston Bridge around 6.20am on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, to contact Johnstone Police through 101."
