A crash brought a busy Glasgow road to a standstill as snow and ice caused chaos on the city's roads.

Croftfoot Road had to be closed-off following a two-vehicle incident involving a double decker bus on Tuesday.

Images from the scene show the bus blocking the street in both directions.

A row of single decker busses have been pictured stuck on the road after the crash caused gridlock.

An incident involving a lorry also contributed to the traffic delays after it also became stuck.

Police attended the scene and confirmed that the road had to be closed shortly before 4pm causing a traffic gridlock on nearby Castlemilk Drive.

No injuries have been reported and Croftfoot Road has now reopened to traffic.

John Harkins posted pictures of the scene on to his Facebook page.

He said: "Stay clear of the whole of Croftfoot Road and going up Castlemilk Drive if you want to get anywhere.

"Total Gridlock... Only traffic moving is coming out of Castlemilk Drive onto Castlemilk Road or heading towards Rutherglen."
