A busy city centre road is facing traffic delays after part of the carriageway collapsed.

Hope Street in Glasgow has been reduced to one lane between Gordon Street and Bothwell Street following the subsidence on the road.

The partial closure of the road is expected to cause traffic congestion.

Anyone travelling through the area has been warned to plan ahead and expect delays.

Police Scotland said: "Due to a carriageway subsidence, Hope Street has been reduced to one lane between the junction of Gordon Street and Bothwell Street.

"Expect delays if you are travelling by this route through the city centre."

The affected area has been fenced off and a Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said the issue is being investigated.
