A teenager has been charged with driving offences following a crash which left two police officers needing hospital treatment.

One of the officers had to be cut free from the wreckage of a marked police car following the incident in London Road, Glasgow on Thursday evening.

Two officers were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary but their injuries are not thought to be serious.

Police had earlier been called to a report of a disturbance in Langbar Gardens, but the suspect made off in a vehicle when they arrived.

This vehicle struck the police car, which was not responding to the disturbance, around 8.15pm.

A 17-year-old man has now been arrested and charged with culpable and reckless conduct, along with road traffic offences.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.
