Detectives are hunting a hooded man after an armed robbery at a Chinese takeaway in Johnstone

The suspect targeted Louise's Kitchen in Greenend Avenue around 9pm on Sunday.

He threatened staff with an unknown weapon before escaping with more than £100 in cash.

Police Scotland said the man was last seen running in the direction of Ryefield Avenue.

Detective Constable Derek Johnston from Paisley CID said: "Thankfully the female member of the staff was not hurt during the incident but it was still a terrifying ordeal for her.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the surrounding area around 9pm last night and noticed a man matching the above description, or anything at all suspicious, to please get in touch."

The man is described as 5ft 10in and was wearing dark coloured clothing with the hood pulled up to cover his face.
