A pensioner was left "extremely shaken" after being robbed in his own home.

An 80-year-old man was targeted during the raid at Raithburn Avenue in Kilmarnock at 9.20pm on Sunday.

The robber ran off towards Onthank Drive with a two-figure sum after demanding money from the elderly victim.

Constable Scott Moore said: "To target an elderly man within his own home is cowardly and totally unacceptable. He must be caught.

"Luckily the elderly man was uninjured, however he has been left extremely shaken by this robbery.

"At this time, we have no description of the suspect, however officers are currently carrying out enquiries in the local area including house to house enquiries, and checking CCTV footage from the local area."
