Detectives hunting a burglar who broke into a restaurant twice within a few hours have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to.

The suspect first targeted the business on Queen Street, in Glasgow, around 9.45pm on Thursday June 29 last year.

Police said he forced entry to the back door of the restaurant, which he accessed through a lane to the side of the premises.

The robber stole several items worth a four-figure sum of money.

He brazenly returned to the restaurant in the early hours of Friday June 30 to take further items.

Detectives have now released two CCTV images of a man they believe may be able assist with their inquiries after the Crown Office approved the move.

The man was wearing a dark Nike tracksuit, bright green and orange Nike Air Max trainers, a black North Face Jacket and a blue and orange woollen hat.

Constable Rachelle Logue said: "I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in the images to please get in touch as he may be able to assist the inquiry team."

Anyone with any information about the incident or who recognises the man in the images is asked to contact Constable Logue at Baird Street Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
