CCTV images of a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Greenock town centre have been released.

The incident took place at around 8.45pm on Wednesday, April 25, when a man entered The Liquor Shed on West Stewart Street and threatened the shop assistant with a knife before forcing him to hand over a three figure sum of money.

Officers investigating the incident believe that the man shown in the images will be able to assist them with their enquires.

He is described as white and around 5ft 4ins with a slim build.

At the time of the robbery he was wearing a dark beanie hat, black hooded jacket, grey trousers, dark coloured trainers and black gloves.

He was also carrying a black rucksack.
