A search is under way for a North Lanarkshire man who was last seen four days ago.

Brendan Fitzimmons, from Cumbernauld, was spotted in the Condorrat area at around 6.30pm on Friday and it is believed that he may have travelled to Glasgow.

The 31-year-old has not been missing before and relatives claim it is out of character for him not to be in touch with his family and friends.

He is described as white, 5ft 8ins with a slim build and light brown hair.

When he was last seen he was wearing a, brown sheepskin-lined aviator-style jacket, blue jeans and black and white Adidas samba trainers.

He was also in possession of a black backpack and rigger boots.

His brother Ged Fitzimmons says there was a reported sighting of Brendan on West Nile Street, Glasgow at around 7pm on Friday.

He said: "He was seen walking outside Di Maggios at West Nile Street near The Holiday Inn in Glasgow at approx 7pm on Friday."
