A man climbed a speaker pylon forcing Liam Gallagher's TRNSMT festival set to be halted.

The man was seen scaling a speaker tower on the main stage while the former Oasis frontman was closing out the second day of the event.

Gallacher's performance was disrupted for almost 30 minutes until the man eventually climbed down.

A 34-year-old man was charged in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police can confirm that a 34-year-old man was arrested and charged with a breach of the peace after he climbed part of the speaker stack during the Liam Gallagher set at TRNSMT festival on Saturday.

"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."

Meanwhile, officers arrested a further five revellers in connection with public order offences and being in possession of flares and a weapon.

Another 33 people were caught with drugs while entering the festival.

Saturday's line-up also included Wolf Alice and the Courteeners.

Miles Kane, Interpol and the Arctic Monkeys will play at the festival on Sunday, among others.

The following weekend will see performances from Queen + Adam Lambert, Texas, Jessie Ware and The Killers.
