A decomposed corpse found inside a tent in a park has been identified as a missing man last seen nearly a year ago.

The discovery was made at Hogarth Park in Carntyne, Glasgow.

The Lithuanian man, who has not been named, went missing from Cranhill in August 2017.

Officers said the 48-year-old's death is not being treated as suspicious.

The park was cordoned off while forensic officers were also called following the discovery last month.

His family have been made aware.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "The body discovered in Hogarth Park near to Edinburgh Road in the east end of Glasgow at around 5.30pm on Monday, June 11, can now be identified as a 48-year-old Lithuanian national who had been missing from the area since August 2017.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
