A man collapsed at a subway station after being attacked in central Glasgow.

Police were called to Bridge Street station in Glasgow at 3.50pm on Thursday after the man was seen falling to the ground.

He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

A police spokeswoman said the man had been attacked earlier in the city centre.

She added: "Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing."

The spokeswoman was unable to give details on the severity of the man's injuries.
