A man was punched in the face by a stranger during an unprovoked attack at a subway station in Glasgow.

The 25-year-old victim was on his way home from work on Thursday, July 12 when he was approached by a man wearing a baseball cap at Partick station.

He was punched in the face in what British Transport Police described as an "unprovoked and violent" attack, and left with bruises and swelling.

The assault took place around 7.30pm while the subway station was busy with passengers.

The suspect is described as being white, around 5ft 9in tall and aged around 30.

He wore a dark baseball cap and a blue polo shirt.
