A thief threatened workers to steal cash from a Ladbrokes in a "terrifying" raid.

The robbery happened at a branch on Anniesland Road in Glasgow at 9.50pm on Saturday.

The suspect made off with a three figure sum of cash after threatening two women who were working.

He is Scottish, 5ft 11in and has sallow skin. The thief was wearing a white hoodie, dark jeans and white trains.

Officers believe he was carrying a black rucksack and a black bin bag containing sports equipment.

Sergeant Robert Bowie said:"This robbery was terrifying for the two women who were working in the shop at the time.

"It is vital that we find the man responsible.

"Our officers are currently checking CCTV and making door to door enquiries, however we are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and contact us.

"The man would have looked out of place prior to going into Ladbrokes, carrying a black bin bag and a rucksack.

"Do you remember seeing anyone in the area matching his description?

If you have any information we would urge you to come forward and contact us on 101."
