A body has been found in the search for a missing teenager in the south of Scotland.

Seventeen-year-old Hannah Rose Garside was reported missing on Sunday evening in the Kirkcudbright area.

Police Scotland launched a search and a body was discovered early on Monday.

Officers say formal identification is still to take place but the body, which was found in a wooded area in the town, is believed to be that of the 17-year-old.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
