A man has appeared in court charged with abducting a woman with the intention of raping her.

Braulio Dacruz, 30, allegedly "detained the woman against her will" at St George's Road in Glasgow on August 14.

He also faces a second charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards a woman on Hutcheson Street, in Glasgow's Merchant City on the same date.

It's claimed he took a woman's hand, made comments about her appearance, asked if she was in a relationship and tried to make her take his phone number.

Dacruz appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday where he was represented by Marisa Borland and made no plea.

Prosecutors allege that Dacruz took hold of the woman by the arm at St George's Road and stated that she was staying with him, and made threats of a sexual nature.

It's claimed this was done whilst leading her to believe he had a weapon, with the intention of raping her.

Dacruz was remanded in custody and will appear again next week at a full committal hearing.
