A body has been found in the River Clyde in the search for missing man Justin Conroy.

The 24-year-old was last seen in Broomielaw, Glasgow at around 2.30am on Sunday, September 23.

A major search has been taking place since and a man's body was recovered from the River Clyde at around 10.25 am on Saturday.

Formal identification is yet to take place however the body is believed to be the Mr Conroy's and his family have been made aware.

A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which officers are currently treating as unexplained.

The keen Celtic fan's parents Fiona and Pat Conroy made an emotional public appeal when their son first went missing.

They said: "Our sons, Justin and Shaun are the most precious things in our lives. We love both of them with all of our hearts.

"We are distraught at Justin's disappearance, he has never gone missing before and is in constant contact with us.

"He is a positive boy, always looked on the bright side and is a keen football fan and enjoys playing computer games.

"We miss his jokes about the dishwasher, his comments about his dad being nosy and telling his mum how lovely her hair is."
