Woman who died after crash on country road named
The 45-year-old died following a head-on collision near Helensburgh on Monday.
A woman who died following a crash on a country road has been named.
Caroline Nelson was driving west on the A818 in Argyll and Bute near Helensburgh when her Vauxhall Meriva collided with a Volkswagen Tiguan coming in the opposite direction.
Emergency services attended at around 9.10am on Monday and the 45-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other people were seriously injured in the crash.
The driver of the Tiguan, a 71-year-old man, and a 70-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
Medical staff described their condition as serious but stable.
