A man is fighting for his life after being struck by a lorry in Glasgow.

The 38-year-old was crossing Stobcross Street, Finnieston, when he was hit by the DAF articulated vehicle at 9am on Monday.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Govan where he remains in a critical condition with serious head injuries.

The 54-year-old male driver of the lorry was not injured.

Chief inspector Darren Faulds said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the man in the area prior to the crash.

"It's a busy junction, especially at this time of the morning, and so would ask that anyone who saw the incident but who has not yet come forward, contact police."
